Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)
China's main government scholarship, with thousands of slots across hundreds of universities. Two routes: Type A through the Chinese embassy in your country (bilateral quota) or Type B directly through a Chinese university. English-taught programmes have grown massively, especially in engineering and medicine.

Insider tips
- 01A pre-admission or acceptance letter from a Chinese professor dramatically raises Type A odds — cold-email supervisors before applying, exactly like the job-route guide describes.
- 02Type B (university track) often has better odds than the embassy quota; apply to 2–3 universities in parallel.
- 03Double-check whether your programme is genuinely English-taught — ask current international students, not just the brochure.
