Insider tips

  1. 01Use all 3 programme slots — pick one ambitious, one realistic, one safe choice based on your grades and profile.
  2. 02Read the consortium's selection criteria PDF. They publish exactly how points are awarded (grades, motivation, references, experience). Write your motivation letter against that rubric.
  3. 03Tailor the motivation letter to the consortium, not to 'Europe'. Name specific courses, labs, and professors in the partner universities.
  4. 04Email alumni on LinkedIn — most Erasmus Mundus alumni (including this site's founder) reply and will tell you what the selection committee valued.
  5. 05Recommendation letters from professors who actually know your work beat famous names who don't.
  6. 06Apply in your final bachelor year — you don't need to wait until you graduate.
