Worldwide

IAESTE Internships (worldwide technical exchange)

The oldest technical internship exchange in the world: STEM students swap countries through national IAESTE committees, and the host employer pays a cost-of-living salary. Less famous than it deserves to be — and the rare funded option that includes industry placements, not just academia.

Short-term (weeks–months)Salaried — a job, not a grant

Insider tips

  1. 01Register with your local committee before January — the best offers in the annual exchange round go in days.
  2. 02Your committee may hold a competitive ranking event or first-come list; ask exactly how offers are allocated.
  3. 03Industry offers (engineering firms, labs) are gold for the post-study job hunt — treat the internship as a working interview.
